Own Art - with an interest free loanWe are pleased to feature something old and somethings new. Donald McIntyre is eminently collectable and his work hangs well with our other North West artists. If you are unable to attend the gallery at normal times just contact us and we will arrange a private view.

Donald McIntyre: was born in 1923 and spent the most memorable years of his childhood in the west of Scotland. He studied painting under James Wright R.S.W at Garelochhead. Qualifying as a dentist in Glasgow, he remained in that profession until the age of forty, when he left dentistry to make a living as a full time painter. A retired member of the Royal Cambrian Academy, he was formerly a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour, the Royal Society of Marine Artists and the Pastel Society.
McIntyre has had many successful solo exhibitions across the country. His work is held in both public and private collections across the globe. His works have been reproduced in numerous books and magazines. He continues to paint with vibrant colour, managing to capture the light and life of his subject matter with masterly brush strokes.

George W. Jardine. 1920-2002
. Jardine was educated at the Royal College of Art and went on to teach graphics at the Liverpool School of Art for 40 years. A visit to a surrealist art exhibition at Liverpool’s Walker Art Gallery sparked his interest in the 1930’s surrealist era, which became a great influence on his portfolio. He developed a unique style, which drew strongly upon the female nude, natural creatures and landscapes reflective of the Northwest, the Lake District and the garden of his home in Wallasey on Wirral.

Louis Blondiau (Belgian).

Art studies

  • Art Academy of Braine l’Alleud in 1982, 1986 and 2000. (Prof. Vincent Baetens on colours and technique of oil painting) ;

  • Training at the « Ecole Nationale des Arts Visuels de La Cambre » Brussels in 2003 (Prof. Bernard Lorge);

  • Training with painter A.Baimatov, 1997, in Tashkent , Uzbekistan;

  • Prix des Art 2003”, painting exhibition of the province of Brabant, Belgium

Louis Blondiau (1963) studied at the Art School of Braine l’Alleud (Belgium) and briefly at the Visual School of La Cambre of Brussels (Belgium). He paints mostly with oil on linen canvas.  Although figurative his paintings should be seen as compositions in which the figure – i.e. the meaning of the figure - is one element only. Other important elements are contrast, depth and balance. “The real subject of painting - which is visual emotion – is not to be found in what is painted but rather in how it is painted.“

Sculptures by Karl Macauley (AKA ‘KOSA’): Kosa was born in Moss Side. A Self taught artist who learned his skills and style through dedication and observation of the Old Masters. He has reproduced with stunning accuracy and painterly detail the works of Goya, Rembrandt, Michael Angelo and the Pre-Raphaelites.

As a youth Kosa was drawn to sculpture. But he concentrated on his paintings. Recently he turned his thoughts, and his hands, to working with stone and realised he could achieve stunning works yet in a seemingly effortless manner. Kosa could see the piece within the stone and his task was to tease the subject out to be viewed by an admiring public. He is inspired by Brancusi, Rodin and Michael Angelo.
