Troubadour Gallery is pleased to exhibit the work of Lucy Burscough.

Personal Art Work:

Since finishing her sculpture degree at M.M.U., Lucy moved towards producing paintings, particularly portraits. She has exhibited extensively including twice at the National Portrait Gallery where her painting was used as the sole image on posters to publicise The B.P. Portrait Award Exhibition. Her paintings have also featured in The Times and The Daily Mail. Well-known portraiture subjects include Jon Snow of Channel 4 News, Melvyn Bragg and the late, great John Peel. Lucy is currently working at Cosgrove Hall films with personal responsibility for producing and designing all props for puppet animated series, including Postman Pat, Bill and Ben and Rotten Ralph. Lucy has undertaken numerous freelance jobs as a scenic artist/set builder including work on bbc3's Casanova and various productions at Manchester's Royal Exchange Theatre. The love of Lucy's life is painting. She has an amazing feel for the medium. A Burscough stands out amongst the crowd.

Artists Statement:

"Hand on Heart": I'll do the painting, the writers can do the writing. I like hands and what these people have to say about them. I hope you do too.

"Often the hands will solve a mystery that the intellect has struggled with in vain." Carl Jung

"The fragrance always remains in the hand that gives the rose." Heda Bejar

"In the absence of any other proof, the thumb alone would convince me of God's existence." Sir Isaac Newton

One last thing…many thanks to everyone who has helped and supported me, Gwyn and James, the family Burscough and especially to Gee who makes me loads of brews and looks after me while I paint, diamond geezer.
All the best,
Lucy x
